Welcome to
Temple Sinai
Temple Sinai is an inclusive, open and affirming community of Jews and Interfaith families in West Houston. We serve the communities of Spring, Cypress, West Houston, Katy, Fulshear, Richmond and Sugarland. We are a community which embraces one another, and we share our lives and Jewish pathways with each other. Temple Sinai is affiliated with the Reform movement – though our members come from a variety of Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds. We look forward to meeting people where they are and helping guide those in search towards a path that fits them and their lifestyle. Come and join us!
Sermons, Music,
Teachings
Temple Sinai embraces music as an important aspect of our religious services. Each week, talented Jewish musicians accompany Rabbi David Lipper on the bemah, weaving traditional and contemporary melodies together to create a joyful and meaningful prayer experience.
Interfaith Families
are Always Welcome
We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our interfaith families at Temple Sinai. In embracing the diversity that defines our community, we recognize the beauty and strength that arises from the coming together of varied backgrounds and traditions. At Temple Sinai, we celebrate inclusivity and understanding, fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of their faith background, feels a sense of belonging. Our shared values of love, compassion, and respect unite us, creating a space where interfaith families can explore, learn, and contribute to the rich tapestry of our spiritual community.
Our Core Values
WORSHIP
Jewish tradition teaches us that the world is built on three things: Torah, Prayer (avodah), and Acts of Loving Kindness (g’milut chasadim). Through worship and prayer we connect with God and with all that is holy – both with the world and with each other. Providing for and sustaining meaningful communal worship is at the core of Temple Sinai.
Learning
Not only is Rabbi Lipper a prolific reader, but he has also authored multiple publications including Living Mitzvot, a Guide for Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation, and Who Knows the One? A Comparative Analysis of Greek Philosophy and Jewish Mysticism. He also co-authored a monograph on the philosophy of Rabbi Moshe Hayim Luzzatto that was published in the Journal of Progressive Judaism.
Community
Temple Sinai is also a spiritual home for Jews to connect with the Divine. We seek to engage members in a way that resonates with both traditional and contemporary worshippers. Rabbi David Lipper is exceptional at creating meaningful and thoughtful prayer experiences that warm the Jewish soul.
